The Nazis Are Coming

But don’t worry, because we have the Communists to protect us.

The next time you’re at a big protest rally, play this game. First, count the number of pro-Hitler images. You’ll notice that this crowd is limited to one pathetic fat white man with greasy hair, another pathetic fat white man with facial tattoos, and pathetic white men who died in 1945. The outpouring of hatred for Nazism – the ideology that murdered about 21 million people between 1933-1945 – is palpable. You don’t even need to attend a protest; you can feel it in your living room.

hitler_rally

Next, count the number of pro-Che images. The Che-love literally wants to jump out and smother you with tolerance. You can see Che shirts, Che flags, Che buttons, Che posters, all celebrating the ideology – namely, Marxism-Leninism – that practiced “bloody terrorism, deadly purges, lethal gulags and forced labor, fatal deportations, man-made famines, extrajudicial executions and show trials, and genocide.” The death toll of communism is “something like 110,000,000, or near two-thirds of all those killed by all governments, quasi-governments, and guerrillas from 1900 to 1987.”

che_rally

If I could order the execution of every Nazi on the planet, I would do it today. And I’d probably do it with Zyklon-B, just to send the extra-loud message that Nazis deserve death and we will give it to them. And I’m a white man.

The thing is that all the Nazis on Planet Earth could probably fit in the Superdome, so it would be theoretically possible to round them all up and kill them.

Communists, on the other hand, are too numerous to fit on their own continent. They’re everywhere: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia and probably even Antarctica. They’re out and proudly selling buttons at your local labor or immigration rally. They’re also startlingly diverse, which must mean they’re right.

These people with the Che-love are the ones who say they’ll protect us from fascism while simultaneously ignoring the fantastic death toll – at least 5.5 times the number killed by the Nazis, and still counting – of Che and his ideological buddies.

I’m not going to pretend I can explain this. I’m just going to note two recent stories from American high schools.

First, the “ethical dilemma” faced by teachers at Stoughton High School in Massachusetts.

The student made the swastika out of tape on a piece of paper and propped it against a recycling bin in a Stoughton High School classroom just before Thanksgiving. … Three teachers, frustrated by a lack of clear guidelines for dealing with such a sensitive issue, responded in sharply different ways. One talked about the swastika in class. Another spoke to a student about it. And a third withdrew a college recommendation for the student who created the swastika. … Heightened tensions are forcing teachers and administrators to grapple with abhorrent actions few say they are prepared to confront.

Fair enough. Posting a swastika in class is an abhorrent act, and teachers felt a burning need to “grapple” with it. Stoughton superintendent Marguerite Rizzi made a statement: “We at the Stoughton Public Schools are all committed to eradicating hate speech, and have no tolerance for racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, or any other kind of bigotry or discrimination.”

No word on what Rizzi thinks of Che Guevara, so let’s look at the second story. The Facing History New Tech High School (yes, that’s the  full name) in Cleveland wants students to grow into “upstanders.” How do they do this?

The school, one of the district’s specialized choice high schools, skips the lectures that dominate most high school classrooms for group projects, a lot of online work and a strong focus on political and social issues.

It draws its curriculum from the national Facing History and Ourselves model that uses the Holocaust and other historical events to show students, “the essential connection between history and the moral choices they confront in their own lives.”

It’s a school where pictures and quotes from Gandhi, Martin Luther King or Elie Wiesel are everywhere. It’s a school where students have debates in class over whether guns should be allowed on college campuses and where Spanish classes feature a movie about Che Guevara.

Now, I don’t know if Facing History students sell Che buttons at school fundraisers, or wear Che shirts to class. But I can guess that any teacher who does “grapple” with the “ethical dilemma” posed by Castro’s ruthless enforcer is perfectly willing to tolerate a few Che stickers around campus.

I’m sure you already know where I stand on this, but let me spell it out.

If you think wearing a Che Guevara shirt is “free expression” but wearing a Nazi swastika is “hate speech” then not only are you a purveyor of the false ideology of Social Justice, but you also do not understand what tolerance is.

Wearing either symbol – the swastika or Che – is hateful but not criminal; and, not being criminal, should not be banned. Young people must be taught to tolerate the non-criminal behavior of others, and demand actual justice for criminals like Che and Hitler.

The real problem is not that virtually every school grapples with the dilemma of Nazism, but that virtually no school grapples with the dilemma of Communism. These “tolerant” schools are using the power of the state to “educate” students that Nazi murderers are “socially unjust” while Communist murderers are “social justice warriors.”

These schools are producing the people who will “protect” us from fascism.

dirtsong

Dirtsong

My wife and I went to see “Dirtsong” last night at UC Davis. Here are some of my unconnected thoughts.

Thankfully, the music was beautiful, because it took me half the concert to ignore the fact that I was surrounded by Progressive Liberals who recently celebrated the violent suppression of free speech at UC Davis and UC Berkeley. I kept having visions of taking over the stage and berating the audience, “This is what it feels like to be lectured by an asshole protester. Maybe you should remember this the next time a campus event you dislike is shut down by an asshole you happen to agree with.” Naturally, I didn’t do that because I’m not an asshole Leftist protester.

Most of the songs were sung in some aboriginal dialect, and thus there was no context to the silent movies of staring faces that confronted us throughout the performance. The audience was left with only our emotional devices to process the information, which was probably the intent of the entire program.

The silent movies were occasionally accompanied by slogans about “old law” and the land. One slogan that spoke to me was “I will never be like you. I am not your way.” I found that refreshing, but I couldn’t help wondering how “old” and “natural” a law has to be before Liberals will embrace it.

The band was all white men playing western instruments. It felt like reverse cultural appropriation (yes, I know that’s a “racist” thought), but I suppose it was meant as a symbol of the white man’s appropriation of aboriginal land.

One of the two songs sung in English was about “you will never take my land.” So that cleared things up a bit, although some reviews say the performance is all about “black and white solidarity.”

Leaving the concert, I wondered if the despair over losing “old cultures” will ever end, and why “Progressives” who love this sort of despair are always talking about “unity” and “forward.” It should be possible to celebrate history and culture without trying to destroy your own. But maybe I’m just a white oppressor.

Again, the music was beautiful. The women’s voices were powerful and uplifting. The silent movies were fascinating. The faces were unforgettable. But it was impossible for me to ignore that the performance took place in a milieu that Leftists have created on university campuses – which is explicitly designed to exclude people who have the “wrong” opinions about music, art, culture, and the world at large.

At least I got to enjoy 25% of the concert. And that was enough, because the tickets were free.

In Which I Agree with the White Supremacist Vaginarchy that the Future is Nasty

Donald Trump is not the first “pseudo-modern” American president, and he won’t be the last. Because what pseudo-modern Americans really want is the “People’s Choice President.” Voting “should” be as easy — and mindless — as texting “Yes” or “No” to a political poll streamed to their “smartphone.”

In philosophical terms, says Alan Kirby, “the culture we have now fetishises the recipient of the text to the degree that they become a partial or whole author of it. Optimists may see this as the democratisation of culture; pessimists will point to the excruciating banality and vacuity of the cultural products thereby generated. … By definition, pseudo-modern cultural products cannot and do not exist unless the individual intervenes physically in them.”

Thus are The People both elevated to the pinnacle of importance and reduced to utter banality. Radio listeners can influence radio playlists in real time, television audiences can vote TV show cast members off the island, and protesters can be applauded as they take over the microphone at political rallies.

Politicians are only too happy to give us what we want; indeed, that is what they’ve always done. But pseudo-modern voters have made it extraordinarily easy for politicians to portray themselves as a “blank slate” — upon which voters draw whatever they desire. Barack Obama proudly admitted this; it was one of his greatest achievements.

“I serve as a blank screen,” Obama wrote in The Audacity of Hope, “on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.”

While Obama merely proved that Progressives don’t care if their emperor has no clothes, what The Donald proved is that politicians no longer need a party or the press. All politicians need now is The People to physically intervene, and all the “authors” of a political campaign need to do is pretend to abolish themselves — “for the people.”

It is no coincidence that Barack Obama, in his farewell address, and Donald Trump, in his inaugural, both made the same appeal.

“I am asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about change — but in yours,” said the man famous for being a community organizer.

“Everyone is listening to you now,” said the man famous for singlehandedly making America great again.

In some ways, all this empowerment of We The People is “for position only” (to use a term from my days in the printing industry) — a cheap, low-resolution, facsimile of the real artwork that is replaced by the experts at the printing plant before public distribution. Another analogy comes from the Obama Administration itself, which wrote the Affordable Care Act in a way that “treated” the “stupidity of the American voter” to prevent the infection of stupidity from spreading any further.

In other ways, the empowerment is good. The gatekeepers in The Media have lost much (if not all) of their power. The Progressive coalition — long kept by politicians in separate subcritical masses called identity groups (to prevent premature detonation) — has finally reached its long-sought “critical mass” only to result in what was always going to happen: fission. If the recent Women’s March against “government taking our rights” proved anything, it’s that Progressives have finally discovered government can be too big and too powerful; and that being a “woman” or a “minority” is no longer enough. After the march, transgender women (aka men) excoriated cis-pussied white women (aka the white supremacist vaginarchy) for the “oppressive message” that a “vagina is essential to womanhood.”

Across the pond, counter-culture pop icon Brian Eno has “anger at myself for not realising what was going on” with Brexit and now Trump. “I thought that all those Ukip people and those National Fronty people were in a little bubble. Then I thought: ‘Fuck, it was us, we were in the bubble, we didn’t notice it.’ There was a revolution brewing and we didn’t spot it because we didn’t make it. We expected we were going to be the revolution.”

Back here in California, a Progressive scientist has inexplicably declared the end of the “post-post-truth world” and a Progressive legislature has demanded “civic online reasoning” in high school curricula — even as Progressive scientists and legislators insist that men without vaginas can still be women and that “fake news” is damaging the very foundation of our democracy.

“Fortunately,” says the pseudo-modern scientist, “here in California citizens have many avenues for engaging directly with scientists to discuss issues such as climate change …”

I don’t know if Brexit and Trump constitute a revolution, as Eno says they do. Perhaps they are just the outward manifestations of the pseudo-modern revolution that “occurred” — as Alan Kirby says — “somewhere in the late 1990s or early 2000s.”

What I do know is that, in this brave new world, history is meaningless. All that matters is Forward, and whether we can “lean into” our “impactful lives” — where we have The Power to vote Hillary off the island and get Trump in return.

‘I love America. It’s Americans I hate.’

This is an abridged version of how it’s been during my lifetime. First it was “I love Soviet communes so let’s bring them to America.” Then it was “American individualism hates superior communism so I hate America.” Then for a long time it was “I hate the troops and America and ugly Americans.” Then for a shorter time it was “I support the troops but not the war.” Then for about a year it was “I was never proud of America until now.” Then for one week it was “America has always been great” which became “Russia is evil and America has always been great.” Now it’s “I love America but hate Americans.” (See The Week.)

Underneath the disingenuous self-serving flip-flopping, the inconvenient truth is that human-nature deniers have always hated the Founding Fathers, the Republic, the Electoral College, the Separation of Powers, America herself, and the free markets which built her. And they’ve always wanted the “pure democracy” promised to the worker-peasant alliance by the “democratically-elected soviet councils.” These days they call it “democratic socialism.”

The rest of us, who have never flip-flopped on America, know that socialism leads to communism (Lenin’s words, not mine) and collective rights always violently oppose individual rights. So we will not give up defending our individual rights, even when it means electing (potentially) the second-worst president ever to keep another progressive human-nature-denying socialist from extending the administration of Her anti-American race-baiting predecessor.

The human-nature deniers may yet win. They have an arsenal of anti-human weapons on their side (the U.N. Human Rights Council, to name just one). But they should know that the rest of us will not go quietly into that socialist night.

The Non-Exhaustive List of Reasons Dianne Feinstein Feels Sorry for Hillary

The name-calling.

The email intrusion.

The misinterpretation of what she had done with the emails.

Because she was blamed for the unfortunate destruction of 12 phones with a hammer.

The bleachbit that got all over her blue pantsuit.

The exhausting work her housemaid did to print all those top secret documents.

The moral heartache of deciding to print 55,000 pages of email instead of sending a thumb drive to the FBI.

The late nights and weekends her staff worked to make sure every single classified email was immediately sent to the authorities (she even selflessly ordered her Secret Service detail to buy pizza and yoga mats when the going got tough).

The insults hurled at her for her compassion and honesty in communicating with those deplorable Americans.

The insulting Attorney General wouldn’t give Bill a blowjob at the Phoenix airport, even after he asked nicely and reminded her that she wouldn’t be AG if it wasn’t for him.

That she can’t visit her beloved Coney Island because it sounds too much like that traitor’s last name.

Those hussies were paraded in front of her at the debate.

She wasn’t able to scream “go fuck yourselves” to her Secret Service detail as they unceremoniously tossed her unconscious body into a van.

All those countries she visited … and for what?

The selfish John Podesta robbed her of the opportunity to give her concession speech.

The cliff off which Clinton Foundation donations have fallen.

She just can’t open up about the alcohol-fueled fits of rage caused by the unclean Donald Trump because it’s too painful.

People weren’t willing to donate enough money and Jill Stein failed execrably to produce enough recounted votes.

The fact that the Electoral College would even think of voting for someone else.

“She’s exhausted, and who can blame her? America just barely missed having this true leader as their president. It’s shameful,” Feinstein said.

A Higher and More Powerful Title

Jimmy Carter had an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, in which he extols the virtues of human rights.

Fortunately for all of us, free speech is one of the actual human rights, and state-sponsored “protection” from free speech (aka “hate speech laws”) is not. People like Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter are nothing more than lawfully-elected criminals running a protection racket: we elect them, they promise to “protect” us from “hate speech.”

Neither Carter nor Obama believe the words they speak. If they did, they would stop trying to redefine “citizen” as “undocumented resident.”

Yes, that’s the new phrase for “undocumented immigrant.”

In this civic atmosphere of “no borders” and “sanctuary city” resolutions, it is richly ironic (or, more accurately, cravenly pathetic) that Carter writes this paean to America: “In our democracy, the only title higher and more powerful than that of president is the title of citizen.”

“President” Obama literally tried to end-run the Constitutional rights of citizens with “a pen and a phone” – that, and the power of the Department of Justice.

In contrast, I actually believe that the “higher and more powerful” title is “citizen.” If only Jimmy Carter really believed that.

Multicultural identity police charge whites with exploiting identity

If you’re worried that White Nationalist groups are forming on your college campuses, good. Because ultra right-wing white nationalist groups are not a force for good; neither in America, nor in Europe where they are vying for power at the national level.

But if you’re not worried about the Black Communist Internationalist groups that have already begun taking over higher education in America, then you either do not care or do not understand that Maoists are vying for control of your campuses.

The Black Liberation Collective that organizes campus protests and compiles The Demands is “dedicated to transforming institutions of higher education through unity, coalition building, direct action and political education. … As an organization, we stand against capitalist notions of infinite profit, homogenized markets, and a privatized means of production. … An international movement is needed to defeat this rotten system.”

If that’s not clear enough for you, then a cursory comparison of The Demands made by Black Lives Matter groups and the 16 Points made by Mao Tse Tung might be helpful. You know that physical intimidation of “reactionary bourgeois academic authorities” has already started, and unless the “revolutionary student” forces are stopped it’s only a matter of time until real violence breaks out. The presence of White Nationalists will make matters worse, but the absence of White Nationalists will do nothing to prevent the revolution from continuing.

The article at Inside Higher Ed – White Nationalist on Campus – focuses on two California State University campuses, so let’s take some examples from their sister campus at CSU East Bay.

CSU East Bay Demand 3. “WE DEMAND an increase in funding for CSUEB’s Ethnic Studies Department … to offer year-round courses to students such as ‘Hip Hop Nation’ taught by Shaida Akbarian.”

CSUEB Demand 4. “WE DEMAND a vote in determining the professors that are tenured at CSUEB’s campus.”

CSUEB Demand 7. “WE DEMAND a mandatory cultural awareness/racial sensitivity training take place for all incoming employees, staff, faculty, and the University Police Department…”

Mao’s Point 4. “Let the Masses Educate Themselves in the Movement: Trust the masses, rely on them and respect their initiative. … Let the masses educate themselves in this great revolutionary movement and learn to distinguish between right and wrong and between correct and incorrect ways of doing things.”

Mao’s Point 10. “Educational Reform: In the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution a most important task is to transform the old educational system and the old principles and methods of teaching. … In every kind of school we must apply thoroughly the policy of education serving proletarian politics … so as to enable those receiving an education to develop morally, intellectually and physically and to become laborers with socialist consciousness and culture.”

CSUEB Demand 1. “WE DEMAND support and funding for a Black Student Government that will … serve as the ultimate support for our black clubs and organizations.”

Mao’s Point 9. “Cultural Revolution Groups, Committees and Congresses: The struggle of the proletariat against the old ideas, culture, customs and habits left over by all the exploiting classes over thousands of years will necessarily take a very, very long time. Therefore, the Cultural Revolutionary groups, committees and congresses should not be temporary organizations but permanent, standing mass organizations [and] should consist mainly of representatives of the revolutionary students.”

CSUEB Demand 10. “WE DEMAND that we receive a response and plan of action from President Leroy M. Morishita by January 6th, 2016 by 12 pm (noon).”

Mao’s Point 11. “The Question of Criticizing by Name in the Press: In the course of the mass movement of the Cultural Revolution … criticism should be organized of typical reactionary bourgeois academic ‘authorities’…”

Since Inside Higher Ed appears unwilling to give equal time to criticizing Black Liberation Collective and other Maoist front groups attacking higher ed, might I make a modest proposal? Change the headline of that article to “Multicultural identity police charge whites with exploiting identity.”

Unification Through Abandonment Rage

“When Barack Obama spoke to the nation on the subject of race in March 2008, he directed our attention to the need for a new politics that could embrace a vision of hope and unity. … Obama grants Blacks and all Americans their justified feelings of abandonment by their country.” – An excerpt from “Barack Obama’s Call to Restore Ethics in Politics” which was excerpted from a longer essay in the volume Communication Ethics and Crisis which was excerpted from the forthcoming volume The Fall of the American Republic.

How’s that working out so far? I may write an essay consisting entirely of direct quotes from His Highness Barack I and select sycophants, circa 2008.

Progressivisms

Some speech is hateful, so this is hate speech. Not all Christians are good, so Christianity is evil. Not all Muslims are terrorists, so Islam is peace. Not all men are rapists, so we live in a rape culture. Some immigrant men come from an actual rape culture, so we call them youths or orphans. Some women choose to raise their children to be suicide bombers, so women who oppose abortion are anti-choice. Some people believe motherhood is the most important work, so conservatives believe that the only job allowed for women is motherhood. Unmarried women who have multiple children but no high school diploma or job are proud single moms, so educated married women with husbands and children are bourgeois enemies of working families. Conservatives have families who feed off the poor, so Conservatism is destructive. All Progressives are conservationists, so taxing and spending is conservation. Paying taxes is patriotic, so only traitors complain about taxation by corrupt representatives. 3% of the population pays 52% of income taxes, so only racists notice that 13% of the population commit 85% of inter-racial crime. Tens of millions of people stop looking for work, so they are not unemployed. Not all employed citizens save for retirement, so those who do must pay for those who don’t. Employed Americans support law enforcement and safe communities, so people who burn down their neighborhoods and shoot police are freedom fighters. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, so Progressives love poor people. American taxes make people on welfare wealthier than 99% of the world’s poor, so the 1% hate the poor. Americans hate the poor, so Western techno-democracies emit the most CO2 pollution. Every living mammal exhales CO2, so humans are parasites. Parasites love electric cars that get their rechargeable batteries from strip-mined precious metals, so the coal industry must die. Coal miners bitterly cling to their guns and religion, so they are anti-progress. Anti-progress families don’t care about women, so there are more men than women in science and technology. There are more women in college than men, so colleges are sexist and women need safe spaces. Colleges prepare students who are thoughtful, well-informed, and resilient, so college students feel invalidated as they protest distressing viewpoints and retreat to safe spaces. College trustees entertain presentations on bullying by faculty and staff, so some professors file First Amendment lawsuits against journalists. Most journalists are bipartisan, so Donald Trump didn’t pay taxes in 1996 and is unfit for the White House. The New York Times didn’t pay taxes in 2014, so it’s a corporation that uses smart power. Hillary Clinton used smart power in her Russian uranium negotiations, so journalists support Hillary Clinton for the White House. The Clinton Foundation took money from foreign dictators, so Hillary hit her head and her staff took the Fifth. Hillary is running for president, so voting is imperative for working families. Some people can’t get a state ID card, so voter fraud doesn’t exist. Some people vote 12 times in one election, so voter ID is racist. I’m a white person of Viking ancestry who is voting for Donald Trump, so I’m a white slaver. Everyone’s ancestors are guilty, so who do you owe?
